Global Resources

Cross-standard references that span every HL7 version

The reference material that does not belong to any single version: code systems, OIDs, mappings, and live terminology.

Most of the spec browser is organized by standard and version (v2.5.1, FHIR R4, CDA). Global Resources is the version-independent layer underneath: the coding systems, identifiers, and cross-standard mappings that every version references. It is reachable from the Global Resources menu in the header of any spec page.

The Sections

SectionWhat it holds
Code SystemsAll 642 coding systems from HL7 Table 0396 with their OIDs, FHIR URIs, categories, and status
OID RegistryA unified registry of HL7 object identifiers (tables, code systems, and structures), resolvable in both directions
FHIR Mappings471 V2-to-FHIR terminology mappings (plus a CDA/V3 view) linking v2 coding systems to their FHIR CodeSystem URIs
Transport SpecsThe transport and encoding layer: HTTP, MLLP framing, and XML encoding rules
Terminology SearchLive search across 17 curated clinical code systems including ICD-10-CM, LOINC, RxNorm, SNOMED CT, HCPCS, NDC, ATC, and CVX — or widen the scope to the full vocabulary set
Administrative DataNPI, provider taxonomy, and demographic reference data
Specification SearchCross-version full-text search over the entire specification corpus

Everything cross-links

Table references in the parser and spec browser resolve into these resources: a coding-system badge opens its Code Systems entry, an OID copies from the registry, and code systems marked Searchable open pre-filtered in Terminology Search.
