About this SOP Class

A SOP (Service-Object Pair) Class pairs an Information Object Definition (IOD) with a DIMSE service. In practice it's what two DICOM nodes negotiate when they associate — "I want to send you Standalone Curve Storage, are you willing to store it?"

This SOP Class is retired from the current DICOM Standard. Legacy systems may still use it for compatibility; new implementations should prefer the active replacement.
